(b) additional fare:-

(i) for each passenger exceeding 4 carried for the entire distance:

In assessing additional fares every child under the age of 6 and/or one child over 6 years and under 12 years shall be disregarded. Two children between the ages of 6 years and 12 years shall be counted as one passenger.

  1. NOTE: The first passenger has the right to the exclusive hire of the taxi and no other passenger may be carried without his or her express consent.
  2. The prescribed limits wherein the fares are payable cover the area within a radius of 5 miles from Castle Junction, Belfast.
  3. If the amount demanded has not been registered on the taximeter the hirer shall not be liable to pay until the proper fare has been determined. Any complaint about the fare or the taxi should be sent to the Licensing Office, DVLNI, 148-158 Corporation Street, Belfast BT1 3DH, quoting the number of the Taxi and the number of the Driver’s Badge.
